The Toledo Rowing Club helps people discover rowing, develop their skills, and build a community that can row together for years to come.
Our story
Toledo Rowing Club grew from a small group of local rowers organized in 1982-83 to promote rowing on the Maumee River. The club helped establish Toledo's modern regatta tradition, beginning with the Toledo International Rowing Regatta in 1985, later known as Frogtown and revived in 2023 as the Glass City Regatta.
In 1999, TRC and its rowing partners moved into the newly dedicated Philip LeBoutillier Jr. Memorial Boathouse at International Park.
That facility became the center of a rowing community serving athletes of every age and experience level throughout northwest Ohio. TRC is an independent Ohio nonprofit corporation and federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity, and it maintains its own fleet of shells, oars, rowing machines, and coaching launch.
In 2026, a newly elected board began the club's next chapter: renewing adult membership, Learn to Row programming, stewardship of the club's fleet and equipment, and a welcoming community for people who want to row for fitness, competition, and the joy of being on the water.
